Ladies Only

Our Fitness Centre is slightly different from the other ladies only gyms on the market. Shapeup & Go aims itself at the niche 50-60+ lady who, for many reasons will not use a conventional fitness centre. Our equipment has been chosen specifically for the more mature user, providing safe, non-impact based exercise programmes targeting the major muscle groups. Progress is monitored at regular intervals to ensure steady improvements to mobility, health and general fitness and well-being.

Personal Touch

Shapeup & Go members are guaranteed a VIP service on every visit with all sessions by appointment. This system allows us to provide personal attention to every client. Results are monitored using the latest In Body Body Composition Analysis equipment. This state of the art equipment measures Body Fat, Water Content, BMi, BMR, Hip/Waist ratio, weight and muscle mass. We also monitor Blood pressure and heart rates.

Ease of Use

Shapeup & Go uses the latest power assisted exercise equipment on the market. The gentle action is perfect for our clients and the simple to use control functions are easy to use in comparison to the intimidating hi-tech controls on conventional exercise equipment. The appointment system means there is no waiting and with only ten people in the centre at any one time the high trainer to client ratio provides a relaxing and social environment in which to exercise.

Value

Shapeup & Go's attention to customer satisfaction also includes our prices..

We offer value for money membership packages from as little as £28 per month which is half the cost of most conventional gyms.

Future Trends

Improved lifestyles, healthcare and working conditions mean that by the year 2020 half of all European adults will be over the age of 50 and within 10 years adults of 65 will outnumber those under 16 for the first time in the UK.

Improved lifestyles and western economics also creates it's own problems. UK Government statistics recently estimated that by 2010, 12 million adults will be overweight. To date the cost of obesity related conditions cost the UK approximately £3.7 Billion.

The UK health and Fitness market is witnessing dynamic growth fuelled by greater health awareness, increased leisure spend and our aging population of Baby Boomers, (50+ years of age). Expenditure in health and fitness and general physical activities are continuing to increase and for the period 2000-2004 this expenditure increased by over 22% with forecasts for 2005-2009 suggesting that consumer spending will grow by a further 8.6% to £3.8 Billion p/a.

The emerging growth of women’s only health and fitness centres has become one of the fastest growing sectors, although few cater for the niche 50+ client. The more well known ladies only fitness centres only cater for the lady who prefers to exercise in an all female environment.
